Our Story
At Rockwell's On Main, we’re building more than just another restaurant — we’re creating a gathering place rooted in nostalgia, community, and the spirit of Newark. When Gianmarco and Gilda Martuscelli envisioned the concept, the goal was simple: create a true destination where locals, University of Delaware families, professionals, and students could all feel equally at home. A place with energy, warmth, and character — whether you’re joining us for a celebratory dinner, late-night cocktails, weekend brunch, or a private event with family and friends.
The name “Rockwell’s” carries a deeper meaning. It’s a nod to Kate Rockwell, the inspiration behind sister restaurant Klondike Kate's Restaurant & Saloon, creating a connection between the two concepts as a brother-and-sister duo in the heart of Newark. The location itself also holds a special place in our story. Growing up in the area, Iron Hill Brewery was a restaurant we celebrated life’s moments in, and we’re honored to continue that legacy in this iconic Main Street space. As part of that tribute, several original copper brewing elements will remain inside the restaurant as a reminder of the memories created here over the years.
Led by renowned local Chef Brandon Gentry, Rockwell’s On Main will feature an approachable yet elevated menu centered around premium steaks, chops, fresh seafood, handcrafted cocktails, and a lively brunch experience. While inspired by the warmth of a classic American chophouse, the atmosphere blends rustic textures, industrial character, and modern energy to create something uniquely Newark.
Beyond the dining room, Rockwell’s is designed to bring people together. With multiple private dining spaces accommodating intimate dinners, business gatherings, rehearsal dinners, showers, and celebrations of all kinds, we hope to become part of the moments that matter most to our guests.
